Dunno yet. We're still negotiating with SanParks. Our flight is probably lost though.
Can you not claim on your travel insurance??
Only if we had one =O:

But seriously - with two trips each year travel insurance would have cost us more over the years than
we potentially might be losing now. So we're kinda still good. It just hurts at the moment and it is more
down to the fact that we had a booking of a lifetime than the actual money. That's the extra nuisance O/

He runs approval programs for the car insurance industry so his auditors have to visit panel beaters to audit their shops and make sure they meet industry standards. ;-)
I guess travelling a lot and meeting lots of different people a day isn't ideal under the current circumstances. -O-

Apologies, I haven't been following.
Why is this so special? Can SANP not help rebook later in the year??

There is no ways SANParks will let go of any money in full, Mello!

No need to apologize.

We have 10 nights in the most sought after camp in the Kgalagadi.
Normally you're lucky to get in at all and if you get more than one night in a row
you can count yourself outrageously lucky.

I don't ask them to give me the money back. I want postponement,
so they don't have to give me anything.

Plus, most of our booking will definitely resell.

Sorry to hear.
Perhaps SANP will help you with a booking later in the year.

We have just been told that my kids’ school is partially closing. They are trying to continue with classes for the older kids who have exams coming up. But the younger 3 year groups have been sent home.

My daughter 12 y o is now at home indefinitely
My Mrs is a teacher, and she can’t take off because if she does, that messes up things at her school
So I will have to take off work

What an unfortunate circumstance, Mel. 0/0 I DO feel your pain. :-( So sorry.

I hope SanParks will resolve this without ANY cost to you. I also saw a question about renewing WildCards which would be valid during a current reservation, but expired on the later re-booked visit. They cost A LOT, so I hope that can also be resolved.

I do feel for all the companies that will be so severely impacted, especially in the less vibrant ones. :-( :-(

What a nightmare for all involved on all sides. :-(

Good point that! I hadn't even thought of the Wild Card yet 0*\

Will get down to that once the accommodation is sorted

And thank you, Ex. I appreciate any consolation right now :-(
