This one had me puzzled for a moment, because we know him as an individual cheetah, not in a coaltion.
Wonder if there was a female in oestrus in the area that he was looking for. Maybe even Hanri -O-

Anyways. It's a male known as William. He was first seen in September 2021 on the Auob side.
By now he seems to have made that stretch between Kij Kij and Upper Dune Road his home area.
Not often seen, so a nice sighting!

Thanks everyone for all your input :ty:

Returning to Rooiputs this black backed jackal was walking down the road,

And just before getting back to camp, this pygmy falcon was eyeing the area carefully

We spent the afternoon in camp sorting our lives out before going out again for an afternoon drive at about 3pm

We were in luck, (as was Hanri) as just before Melkvlei we found them busy enjoying a springbok which she had taken down

In hindsight, we should have hung around and we MAY have seen the kill itself. :-? :-?

We watched for a while until time dictated that we start heading back for the evening

Gus and Margie in 2014, Kian and Kerru and a sibling that vanished early on in 2016, Hannah and 2 siblings of which one disappeared early on and the other when it was already almost 6 months old and Misty and Miles in 2020. They also had had 2 other siblings that did not survive.

12 in total and at the moment Hannah is our best bet to carry on Hanri's legacy.
Misty and Miles - remains to be seen...
