Did some roads around Pretoriuskop on Saturday. They have been graded and there is a marked improvement especially on the H2-2 section of Faai loop. However the grader can only do so much, and the potholes remain, if slightly diminished. The road to Shitlhave is still awful.
The potholes will have to be filled up.

Did a few roads around PK yesterday, AT LAST they have been properly fixed, with a layer of sand, not just scraping!
Notably the Shitlhave Dam access road!

Smooth sightings ahead as KNP gears up for the festive season
Gravel roads in the KNP getting bladed for visitors over the festive season.

The South African National Parks (SANParks) released the Kruger National Park (KNP) 100 days road maintenance report.
It details progress of the blading of gravel roads in KNP as part of the overall ongoing infrastructure and maintenance programme.
“This intervention also sought to ensure preparedness for the 2024 festive season so as to enhance customer experience as tourists are expected to visit in numbers during this period,” SANParks stated.
According to SANParks, most roads in the south of Olifants River, in the Marula Region of the park, were bladed between July and October 2024 and are constantly being monitored to ensure they remain in good condition.
“The repairs and maintenance included roads leading to many of the bush camps in the south of the national park,” the statement read.
Repairs are ongoing, with focus that will now be directed to the northern side of the Olifants River (Nxanatseni Region of KNP) where considerable progress has been made.
Road repairs are prioritised based on the extent of usage by park visitors over the festive season.
“Roads which are mostly utilised are given priority,” the statement concluded.
