Cheetah Update.

One of Kiara's female cubs has been transferred to Marakele today. Rietvlei has been a very successful breeding area for the endangered species and the gene pool can now further be spread in the quest to save the cheetah from extinction. A sub adult male has also now been collared. There are a total of 8 cheetah currently on the reserve.

Friends of mine saw her when she had 6 cubs! Sadly she must have lost 2 along the way. :-(

Cool sighting though. O/\ They stayed next to the road for over an hour. Also had a failed hunt while we watched....

Same friend also saw red winged francolin over the weekend. Going to look for them next weekend...

Let's hope that the four of them will survive. In any case 6 are too many; the female would never be able to feed them all. Even four are many, but we will cross fingers \O :yes:
