Black-faced Impala Aepyceros melampus petersi are a subspecies of Common Impala Aepyceros melampus melampus and are found in Northwest Namibia and Southwest Angola.

They are larger and darker than Common Impala and have a dark blaze running down the middle of the face.

Once close to extinction, their numbers have increased, but at present there are still less than 1,000 in the wild.
