Encourage all those that receive and post sighting updates to also post speeding, suspect activity, rule breakers, etc.
The auto update gang could police themselves and it could make KNP a better place as all types of issues could be reported

Yeah.
Did that while touring around Skukuza with the gang 2 weeks ago.
mr. Mabunda himself overtook us at 70kms an hour while going to our meet with BC and the gang and I reported that "sighting" on the Kruger sightings Whatssapp group.
This is what I received back:
"This sight is for sightings only and if we continue this we will be reported to the sightingsboard and Sanparks will shut us down."

How is Sanparks going to shut down Whatsapp
Technology is unstoppable, so it should be used for good, not just sightings.
I have already seen speeding and people out their cars on the “Kruger National Park Sightings” and it raised plenty interest from those members

Whatsapp is different, we are talking about a dedicated sightings app. I have the app on my iPhone, but have never used it to get to a sighting. It would just make my blood boil.

Interestingly, we forced frewells to join the BBM group on a men's trip last year...and he got hammered by requests and the like for the whole day!...so unsubscribed!
But still, I don't see the problem with the bigger picture...use it/don't use it?
My personal opinion!

It's not the sharing of information that's being discussed though, I like information and welcome the use of it, even though I don't subscribe. It's how some people behave once they have the information that's the problem.

They behave badly once at the sighting anyway, I suppose?
Whether they arrived there via BBM...who knows?
People have always been shouting about sightings at picnic spots etc.

Shouting about sightings at a picnic spot is nothing compared to thousands of people getting BBM's about a sighting RP. The potential for chaos is multiplied a hundred fold. I'm quite sure many people who now see nothing wrong with the BBM issue complained bitterly about the OSV's and their 2-way communication, where as this new phenomenon is 1 thousand times worse.

and we can do nothing to stop it

It is not even nice to have all this information. It takes the whole pleasure away from a drive looking for animals and the adrenalin rush when you find something special by chance all by yourself!!
