On arrival day, the lions were hogging the area...

Mum came down with her three little ones after it had cooled down a bit.
(It had been mid-forties that day
)
And they all got comfortable in the vicinity of the waterhole, with the cubs playing.
It was 8 lions in total: 2 females, 2 sub-adult males, 1 adult male, 3 cubs

These two dared the lions throughout the day, but the lazy cats didn't move. Just too hot.

The next morning the lions were gone and everyone else found it safe again to come for a drink.

At night we were grace with brown hyenas visiting, but only got on shot:
Luckily they were still thirsty the next morning:
There were at least 3 different brownies, but certainly not 13 different ones like a fellow traveller had claimed to have seen some time before.
