It's a Coot's nest I think, there was a Coot on it on Saturday morning when I was there.

I got some info from Kerri Wolter who is the contact for Vulpro. Costs : R60 for a tour and R100 to visit the hide and you have to book in advance. The vultures are active from 08:00 to 14:00.

My next trip to Rondebult was on 17 January, this time there were lots of Greyheaded Gulls and Blacksmith Lapwings present.














Something disturbed them and they all took flight.

One can see the wing spurs on the Blacksmith Lapwing
