Fantastic Penny
What is the purpose of these meetings if Sanparks hogs the floor.
I wonder if this is just a painful diversion for Sanparks so that they can say “due diligence” was done with stakeholder consultation before just doing their own thing anyway.
I hope I'm wrong, but I think the legal route is the only way to halt some of these developments/commercialization

Apparently did Penny, a compatriot was rudely reminded that thePennyinSA wrote:This road show must have cost an absolute fortune
Kempton meet cost them R50,000.00 grand!! Yah more like R40,000.00
grand for meneer and entourage in travel expense!!! At best of times,
Skuks lodge, tea and bisquits were served!! Malelane controversy, a bottle
of water was on offer!!!
Question remains, whom did they really waste R50,000.00 on???

To be quite honest, taking matters for their worth, very few
people realize that the Malelane controversy played self out
in a tearoom over a bottle of water in Groenkloof. A cup of
tea could be classed wishful thinking, so much so integrity
over the back of conservation!!!

IMO they are doing it for themselves in order to keep us more positive or less negative, choose the one that you prefer. After all they might even be interested in what the stakeholders really think or want

Ja, I think the money spent is fine, as at least preparation was made for 200 people or so to attend each meeting. This is why RSVP should be an important part of the next round, with 20 or so attendees extra for late deciders!

Something has not worked though. Too little publicity! most people have discovered these meetings when it was almost too late. Strangely enough the SPF ignored it completely until a few days ago
I do not know about the social medias as I do not visit them

It was certainly very clearly indicated on FB. I also put in a note on FB. I don't use the others so I couldn't comment on them. I would be interested to know how many have signed up as IAPs in total. Subtract the total number that did attend from that and we get a potential number of submissions pl us a few extra as I know some of us put in a submission as well as going to the meeting.
