I reckon, I'll have to take the burden and go myself to try to find out the truth then. O**

According to the programme for the cricket held in KTP
there will be a talk about the Riverbed cycle challenge on the last evening.
This will last for about 15 minutes. I won't be there as I don't attend cricket
but I hope I'll get some info about the content of this.

From Roxanne:

Dear Roxanne

Your email below has been forwarded to me by Glenn Phillips for my attention.

I can indicate that consideration is currently being given to the cancellation of the Kgalagadi Cycle Challenge but that we have not yet finalised a decision in this regard. When we changed the route to run in the road, starting and ending at Twee Riveren, a substantial number of those who had booked for the event decided to cancel their participation. We are currently in discussion with these and other participants, but it does look as though the revised route may not be viable.

I can also confirm that we are currently looking at a route in the Augrabies Falls National Park as an alternative but also that nothing is concluded on this.

We do realise that communication with our stakeholders is important given the considerable debate that has been generated by the Kgalagadi Cycle Challenge. As soon as there is finality as to whether or not this event is going ahead we will issue a public communication on this issue.

Regards

Paul Daphne

Well, my hope was that they are going to explain why they planned it in the first place
and why they now cancel it in the second place. O**

I find it hard to believe that cyclist can be so keen to cycle in the riverbed and cancel
their participation because the route was changed. 0-
