Thanks Flutterby. Glad you like them. O0

I just worked for a vet Lis. Wish I was a veterinarian but if I can help, I surely will. If I don't know, I'll ask Google. O** \O

Back to the salt mine after a wonderful long weekend! Plenty of pictures and more new species in my garden and elsewhere.

I discovered on Friday that the creepies only get going once it's warmed up a bit, things were still sluggish even at around 09:00.

Two for the price of one, a couple of Banded-Eyed Drone Flies still warming up.

A Striped Bee also taking in some rays.

A Stink Bug?

A bit later on, a Paper Wasp was interested in an old cable clip on the wall of my house.

In the afternoon another of the half-pint Carpenter Bees was visiting. I have tentatively ID'd this as Xylocopa Scioensis.

This species of bee is quite common at this time of year as it seems to enjoy the Ribbon Bush flowers. It must be one of the Long Tongued Bees.
Image

These Bees are also quite common but rarely stay still enough for a picture. I suspect this is Thyreus Pictus.

Saturday morning netted only this African Migrant Butterfly.

Saturday afternoon was spent visiting my SO's workplace which I'll cover in the next posting.

Thanks Toko! \O

The Amegilla bees are really difficult to photograph, they are fast moving and extremely skittish. I was lucky to find this one in a stupor!

One of the tree frogs in our garden. I hadn't realised how bright they were on the underside before :-0
