As always stunning shots, Sprocky,
my favourites are the jackal, the giraffes and the landscape

Re: Grietjie Private Reserve
Thanks, Richwit, Flutters, Lis and Pumbaa!
Last Sunday we got our first rain, even though it was only just over 1mm for the morning, it did manage to have an effect.
Once the rain stopped, I took a drive.
Not too far from home I spotted this Bateleur drying out on a dead tree...
Close to the river, this Bee-eater was busy scanning for something edible...
Even this Kudu looked a bit miffed about being wet...
Then, something not often seen at Grietjie, Mr and Mrs Klipspringer...
Another loving couple coming up soon...

To end off the drive, Mr and Mrs Steenbok...
I have put in a weeks leave for next week, so hopefully I'll get some good sightings to post.

Re: Grietjie Private Reserve
Thanks, to the same four again.
The past few days has produced terrible weather in this area, late August winds and late winter temperatures. Due to this, the first few days of my leave proved fruitless to go on any form of game drive. The weather has improved today and it feels like a normal October day again. Here are a few shots of my drive this morning...
If anyone can help me with an ID of this bird, I would appreciate it...
I found this Yellow-billed Hornbill nest with two of said birds frantically flying in, in turns, to feed the youngsters in the nest...
The Europeans have returned for the summer...
The warm weather also brought out these Platted Lizards...
More to come soon...
