Then next bear we met was a big, powerful male who Megs named "Eyebrows" for obvious reasons. We first saw him deep in the sedge meadow where he was busy feeding.

He wandered over and headed down into the river for a bath.

We caught up with him again later and this time he came even closer as he went to the river to drink.

Eventually he wandered away and settled down for a rest.

WOW - this is getting better and better (and closer and closer O-/ )
I certainly don't feel any desire to be on the receiving end of those claws. :shock:
But what an exciting encounter this must have been for you and Meg!!!

Great pictures. I'm thinking he could do with a manicure. That's probably closer than I'd want to be to a bear, but what an experience & wonderful memories.

Curious - being that close could you detect any odor from him? (that's probably a dumb question but hey, no one said I was a rocket scientist.) O**

Dewi it took me now just over an hour to catch up on your TR and how interesting this is!
I just love the fact that you reaad about this and sommer just decided to go ahead with something you have never done before-I bow down to you!

Landscapes absolutely brilliant!
THe puffins are too cute-amazing shots even though you couldn't see them up close!
Bald eagle-just beautiful!
THe bears are amazing! Great shots and its amazing to see how close you guys could be to them and see them still so calm as if you are just part of their surroundings... Unbelievable!
It looks like you and niece had an absolute blast!
