Thanks, Toks and BC

Re: Itinerary advice
Hi guys
Just wanted some advice. Planning a trip next year, coming up from Dbn and staying over in Sabie / Graskop area on the way up. Plan for the next day is to take a leisurely drive along the Panorama Route and the Pass (stopping at a few sites for the benefit of the other half:) en route to the Park.
Options are as follows: 1) Enter at Palaborwa Gate and then spend first night at Letaba. 2) Enter at Orpen Gate and spend first night at Tamboti. (My plan is to spend 2 nights Tamboti, 3 Letaba, 3 Lower Sabie, but just deciding on the order of the first two camps) :)
Any advice / suggestions would be much appreciated. Haven't travelled that way in many years, so not sure what the roads are like.

Re: Itinerary advice
I would suggest starting at Letaba and then moving down so you do not have to double back.

Re: Itinerary advice
What time of year, Bruce, and are you camping in Letaba and LS?
Bookings need to be made chop-chop?
Flutts is right, IMO, less travelling/driving up and down along the same roads?

Re: Itinerary advice
Thanks for the advice guys
Not camping, but staying in safari tents / huts. Going late Jul/ early Aug next year (after the kids go back to school
). Planning on booking in the next week or so.
My main concern is the condition of the road to Phalaborwa... I heard that it wasn't too great? Maybe you guys can confirm what it is like currently? What is the section after the Pass like, as compared to the route I would have to take to get to Orpen?

Re: Itinerary advice
Ended up booking three nights in Letaba, followed by 2 in Tamboti and 3 at Lower Sabie
Leaving on 23 July - very excited!!!
Just a quick question: we are coming up from DBN on the Sat and are looking for a place to stay overnight, before doing the panorama route in the morning and then heading to Phalaborwa. The decision is between staying in Sabie or Graskop. Which would you say is the better option and any places you can recommend. We are looking for self-catering and fairly affordable (like R500-R700) per night for two people.
