I think we know this cheetah! On Oct. 19th (curious what day you had the sighting) we had a sighting just past the dirt road north of the bridge of a lone cheetah. It had the opportunity for what seemed like a easy impala kill, but didn't take it. Earlier that day I caught a glimpse of what I thought was a leopard, on the edge of the river. After lunch we went back to the same area. We encountered many impalas and baboon in the roadway so we stopped. All of a sudden the impala were alerted and everything ran. I told my Wife " U-turn" she replied you better! As we did the cheetah walked into the roadway in front of us! As it got to the shoulder of I idled up behind it and we watched what seemed like a eternity. It just stood there looking right and left and finally wandered off into the bush. I didn't get any good photos, I had to rely on the point and shoot who's batteries died after the first shot!

Welcome P. Bornhoeft and thanks for posting \O

That lone cheetah seemed to be hanging around the same area for most of the month of October, so it sounds like you spotted the same cheetah O:V Not a very common area for cheetah :-? Pity you didn't get more pics ;-)

Thanks Bushcraft and Flutterby! Oct. was our first trip to Kruger, and it was the most amazing experience from the first day! Images and events etched in my mind forever. I'll post some more soon!
