The H6 seems to be producing more lion sightings in the morning than it used to a few years ago
We always give it a try in the early morning whenever there that road is good for everything especially when the grass in the other areas is far too high

The Ellie w/ the water splash is very nice

, as is the flying European bee eater

. The hippos are obviously swapping funny stories

, and I never imagined seeing an "ugly"

LBR. Wonderful entry
We definitely could not complain about all the sightings we had whilst staying in Satara

Great episode, Pumbaa!
I alsolove the bee-eater story and pic!
Plus lovely lush scenes at Ngirivani.
Cold ones outside this time!
And gorgeous lions!
Yes, that evening we dared and stayed outside

It was simply such a peaceful view onto the lions whilst juggling the second brewing hot coffee in one hand and the camera in the second hand
they were so relaxed that we also put the cameras away to simply enjoy the view and for sure the coffee.
The sun came up slowly and as no more cars arrived until that sighting lasted and all five
cars at that sighting switched the engines off and once found a place to take shots or to simply
observe the lions the lions stayed where they where as we already experienced some nervous queue-jumpers at such sightings who finally chased only the lions away from the road
and out of sight for everyone, well here the lions formed a road block
and nobody dared to pass them
so that everyone had simply the best view onto the lions.
Timon and I were extreme happy that we obviously had chosen the right road that early morning
which is around Satara always not easy as there are so many fantastic options to drive.

As already said the light even got better any better with the sunrise
but that fast upcoming sun was then obviously the signal for the lions to carry on as after around half an hour the first lioness stood up and slowly walked into our direction whilst the rest still stayed flat on the road
but for sure not long as far too soon the second one followed
and then also the final two followed the leaders.
We did not turn around but simply enjoyed the view onto the vanishing lions, three other cars did and followed them so we carried on, nevertheless it was another fantastic start into the day.
Along that road there were masses of zebras
which posed so nice for us in the still high but no longer that green looking grass
we captured the larger ones as well as the smaller ones
and in the end both together.
We stopped for two tawny eagles sharing a tree
for impressive male kudus
and had fun in following a kori bustard in the high grass who attracted a couple of carmine bee eaters
to be continued..........................
