Im catching up here slowly Nan....:)

As regards the chalets in Etosha.....no they are not self-catering. Some have a bar fridge and a tea/coffee station...and a few have a braai facility. Yes you are supposed to eat in the restaurant but I prefer to do our own thing. I took along my camping kitchen bag that has everything in it including a kitchen sink. We had the fridge in the Kombi and Doug has a portable braai that went along as well. I thought we may get complaints but nowhere were there any signs that said we couldn't braai. So yes I made the chalet into a self-catering one. As a matter of interest many NWR parks in Namibia do not have kitchen equipment. Most times you have a fridge and possibly a two-plate burner/stove but absolutely no crockery/cutlery etc. That is why I took my kitchen bag along in the first place. :) At Etosha, Waterberg and Hardap Dam breakfast was included so we made use of that. Etosha's restaurant now opens earlier in the morning before gate opening times you can pop in for breakfast before going out on a drive....so we made use of that facility. :)

I think the "house" RP is referring to is a pump house for the waterhole. It has solar panels on the roof. Some of Etosha's waterholes are natural springs, but many are kept topped-up with bore water.
