Very particular \O Makes it easy to think that animals are able to feel compassion, but it is much more logical that it is a territorial fight ;-)

As the Oom says, "Dit is Brilliant!" ^Q^ ^Q^ ^Q^

What a strong wildebeest!

But the foot won't get better before it gets picked up by another predator, I don't think?

So nice to hear two experienced tourists appreciating this rarity without going bananas!

Had an interesting and unusual situation in the garden yesterday. A swarm of bees arrived and completely took over our barbet log!! O-/ I was worried about our animals and asked for advice on a FB page. People commented that they were most likely following the queen who was looking for a new nesting place and they would not be aggressive in this situation. They did seem quite calm and stayed for about an hour and then moved next door, under the eaves of our neighbour's house. I had to go out then but our neighbour phoned about an hour later to say they had got a bee specialist in who removed them all.

I got a pic of them on the barbet log, but it's not great as I wasn't going to get too close. O-/

Luckily they did not make a nest where the barbets are supposed to make one ;-)
