Well... we saw some space in KTP for the July 2017 holidays and booked, but we're nervous about the night temperatures at that time of year (camping). So I was looking at alternatives and was surprised to see a lot of availability in the April holidays in Kruger, so that might take preference. Lower Sabie would be nice but lack of space there so was wondering about the pros & cons of Skuks & Croc Bridge

Has anyone camped at Skukuza? Looks like the camping is in the direction of the staff quarters so I was wondering how noisy it is?

Camping at Skukuza is ghastly, Peej...ground is rock hard, it is opposite the staff quarters, overcrowded, little shade etc etc... :-0

Never camped in Kruger but Croc Bridge is a lovely small camp with lots of shady trees. \O Skukuza camping area doesn't look so great. Also the S28 and H4-2 between CB and Lower Sabie are very good roads.

Jip, we camped there 4 times and it's a good area, yes you need a jackhammer to get your pegs in the ground but not a big problem if you take a 6mm concrete drill bit and electric drill and drill the holes for the pegs \O , we never had any staff noise but it depends on where you pitch your tent/caravan. The last time was April 2016 and we camped at the safari tents and we didn't have any staff noise. \O

PJL don't listen to RP he just don't like camping because he's to lazy to pitch a tent O** O** =O: =O:

Ellies often come and graze next to the fence at Croc Bridge. ;-)

Taken from the camping area. Imagine having your tent right there. O:V

Harry, Peej is a bit more classy...he won't take 4 hours to pitch a dome tent and then sit and drink his sorrows away... :O^

Thanks for all the info everyone. Despite some rather conflicting views =O: =O: =O: \O

I made an initial booking over the weekend including Skukuza, but I think we'd prefer the quieter croc bridge camp overall. It would be nice to have a restaurant available for the odd night as well as a swimming pool in the day for the kids, but I suppose we can hop up to Lower Sabie for that if needed... or all the way to Skuks. So will probably adjust the booking today
