The Diederik cuckoo is still on my bucket list.

Not the preferred weather of humans and beasts ;-)

Very common in all rest camps (Especially if there are Weaver colonies like say Lower Sabie) from Oct to April but silent generally after New Year (Breeding Generally over) Easily found by following the call in camp to its calling post

Pumbaa your 'Jacobin Cuckoo' is in fact a Levaillants Cuckoo a scarcer species so well done . In older bird books known as Striped Cuckoo because of striping below the chin ..clearly visible below the chin in your pic

This weaver here is the Village Weaver ...with its distinctive dark markings on its back ..great photo

You are right dikkops normaly only do hang around O/\
