The Diederik cuckoo is still on my bucket list.
Not the preferred weather of humans and beasts
For once a dikkop doing something
Cute young hyenas

Ja, it can be VERY cosy in the rain if you are dry Pumbaa!

(Excellent for sleeping.)
Lots of birds.
I like the Christmas Bush!
And love the shot of the males with the cars, what a sighting!

The Diederik cuckoo is still on my bucket list.
Very common in all rest camps (Especially if there are Weaver colonies like say Lower Sabie) from Oct to April but silent generally after New Year (Breeding Generally over) Easily found by following the call in camp to its calling post

Pumbaa your 'Jacobin Cuckoo' is in fact a Levaillants Cuckoo a scarcer species so well done . In older bird books known as Striped Cuckoo because of striping below the chin ..clearly visible below the chin in your pic

The masked weaver instead was only interested in nesting material
This weaver here is the Village Weaver ...with its distinctive dark markings on its back ..great photo

I like that swallow tree
A very cute little hyena too
And of course those beautiful male lions - wow! Just a shame that there were so many cars.
We also got our share
