I know that I repeat myself, but "maintenance" seems unknown and even dangerous for political leaders

These people at the weather berau are clueless, they predict rain at 90% and no rain will fall and when they predict no rain everything is flooded they should start doing maintenance on their equipment so it can work correctly, a report a while ago suggested that because of poor maintenace the weather berau can't do their work propperly but then again whats new in our s#$@ hole country

To be fair, weather prediction is very difficult

We had a cold spell last week.
The forecast for our area was for “snowmageddon”. When the front passed through, we did not get one frosted flake. But other parts of the country, who were not forecast for snow had a relatively big snowfall, and people were trapped overnight in cars etc.

SANParks on high alert as Nxanatseni receives isolated heavy rains

South African National Parks (SANParks) today announced that Kruger National Park disaster management teams are on high alert in Nxanatseni (northern part of the park) due to isolated heavy rains which resulted in localised flooding.

The main road between Mopani and Phalaborwa, Punda Maria and Shingwedzi, the Letaba low water bridge on the H14 road close to Phalaborwa and the Shimuwini camp access road were affected and inaccessible late last night. Road teams are on the scene to make proper assessments and recommendations.

Mopani and surrounding areas were most affected, while Phalaborwa, Olifants and Letaba did not receive such heavy rains and had not reported any road closures.

“Tourists who are already in the park are advised to be extra vigilant, use alternative roads and get updates from their respective reception areas. They should also observe no entry signs, especially on gravel roads and are cautioned not to drive across flooded bridges,” Kruger National Park spokesperson Ike Phaala says.
