We had already such eventful days and saw a lot so we simply enjoyed the time in camp

I guess it depends on the time sometimes there are there and we see a lot of them and sometimes they are hard to find

This one never moved a single bit but therefore were others in the mood for some action
this place was so comfortable so that even a youngster had no chance in getting this one in motion
we really had a great time with them and were once again the only car at that sighting
After we got our shots we carried on and stopped for giraffes
and a great number of zebras who were more than willing to stop and pose for us.
and between the zebras also a lot of impalas were around.
We reached and stopped for only a short body break at Sweni picnic site and finally we were ready for a longer stay at Sweni bird hide as we so far missed a visit there out during this trip. Soon Timon discovered a fish eagle on a rock on the other side of the hide
and we also soon detected the mate opposite of the rock in a tree.
Due to the prevailing heat and the dryness it was not that much water around, however, still enough to attract a lot of different birds but not enough for hippos. Uncountable water lilies were hiding the water and this goliath heron obviously was fascinated by them,
A couple of African jacanas were around as well but they were extreme well camouflages between the dry water lily leaves

and between the water with the water lilies one could already see muddy parts which the Egyptian goose youngsters enjoyed
as well as this three banded plover.
To the right was the deepest part of the hide and here the water was not that covered by water lilies and we were happy to discover an open billed stork on a rock staring into the water most of the time.
We were still looking around in also finding some more hidden birds when suddenly also a huge elephant bull arrived indeed a premiere for us as we so far never saw an elephant there.
there was a short stick sticking out of the water which seemed to be a bit dubious to the elephant
so he walked to a “stickfree” area and quenched his thirst there. Although the elephant was far away it always fascinates in meeting such enormous animal whilst not sitting in a car.
He was in fact still busy quite a while with the water before he moved so we started again to look around and we were successful in finding some black crakes at an unusual place,
we noticed a very well hidden green backed heron
and observed the family of Egyptian goose with quite a lot of goslings.
The pair of fish eagle stayed the whole time at the hide and one of them was always visible, however, changed position from time to time
which the open billed stork never did same only changed from left to right and the other way round.
to be continued.......................................
