I agree with Robert

One night at a camp is quite unsettling , and does not allow much for reconnoitering . I would enter the park at Phala , then travel to Shing and spend 2 nights , then say 2 nights Letaba , and two nights in the south .
Go and enjoy

It is a race doing the whole park in a few days, Errol? I know it is new for you, but the place is HUGE!
Maybe the North first and central and south next time?
I would suggest going in at Phala, two nights at Olifants, and 3 at Satara to start with..then you can get a glimpse of north and central, and there is plenty of game and not too many tourists, touch wood.
You don't have to travel every day, and can chill in camp a bit, also a nice part of the experience!

I agree that 1 night in a camp is too much moving about and you don't get to see the area properly. However, we have done north to south in 6 days staying 2 nights in each camp - Shingwedzi, Satara, Skukuza.

Excellent, Errol! Need to have a look at a bigger farm?

This sounds better and then there is no rush and packing and unpacking

Hi Errol1
What is your primary interest?
Are you after the big 5, rare antelope, cats, birds, dogs, scenery, peace, a mix or all, etc as this can play a major role in where to stay.
Is there any reason you want to do the entire park?

Agree with what been said above.
Too much ground to cover in too short a time.
Rather work out what sort of trip you are after and plan accordingly.

If its your first first visit I would rather do a south /central trip.
Something like 3 days lower sabie/skukuza and 2/3 at satara/olifants.
Leave the north for the next trip imho.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone, they are appreciated. My idea was to initially get a general feel for the park and then concentrate on smaller areas on future trips but do not want to rush through the park on this trip. I like the idea that Flutts has of spending two nights in three different camps and will do some research on this
