Actually very clever, regarding Malelane Hotel...in 2009/10 Department rejected the venture, due to compelling arguments from EIA.

SP fired that EIA company.

Then the new Company continued, but was not paid by the "developer", and stopped, bar a sort of "status report", which is where it stands at the moment.

So now , in effect, we as taxpayers may have to pay for a departmental EIA, just so the thing can get forced through...

It's all about "not losing face"....gov's eternal and idiotic problem. O/

But let's see... O**

An environmental impact assessment (EIA) is an assessment of the possible positive or negative impacts that a proposed project may have on the environment, consisting of the environmental, social and economic aspects.

Hopefully some food for thought!!!

The purpose of the assessment is to ensure that decision makers consider the ensuing environmental impacts when deciding whether or not to proceed with a project!!!

Ja, but as you posted - social and economic reasons are crucial as well.
Well, if I do my maths, the both of them outweigh the other angle... :O^

God put me on earth to accomplish a certain amount of things. Right now I'm so far behind that I'll never die.

Environmental impact assessments commenced in the 1960s, as part of an increasingly rational environmental decision making process!!!,.....

Not so very long ago, hence in 50 odd years we have become clever enough
too realize an age old system out there, going too waste!!!

Geez, that takes some intellect too fathom!!!

Looking at the Minister's latest speech, conservation still comes first!...or biodiversity...whatever!

Toks this country needs too create jobs "big time'
for itself!! No question, however not over the back
of these small confines that manage too eek a living
for the mere plus it has in life!!!

Kruger cannot sustain these meager theories in life
and still support people outside it's national boundaries!!!

We must avoid using Kruger as a political crowbar!!!!

We must stop comparing natural, "National wealth",
better known as heritage, too common national poverty!!!
