I'm so behind on news 0*\ 0*\
Will have to try and catch up a bit... and I also can't wait for PRWIN's TR O** O**

Our riverbed drive brought us out at a boma where 2 new cheetah are being introduced to their new surroundings. Kuzuko used to have cheetah and they offered cheetah tracking until the other year when they died of old age. The new ones have been brought across from Amakhala Game Reserve, and aren't so used to vehicles or people on foot, hence being kept in a boma to help with the adjustment.

Despite it being a relatively small enclosure they weren't visible at all when we drove round for the first time. Thankfully they poked their heads out on another loop and eventually came out for a brief wander O/\ O/\

It's a pity that they cannot make the tracking thing smaller O/ but they are beautiful all the same \O

It is a pity about the size of the collar - it's mainly the weighted part which keeps it in place. At least they coloured the collars the same as each cheetah and added some spots

Maybe from afar it does not show ;-)

Handsome fellows! :-0

If I had the slightes clue on technic, I'd try to invent a chip for the tracking. I seriously don't get how advanced our techonology is, but with the tracking the animals still have to wear those hideous collars. -O-

We were pleased to see the cheetah, and in fact just a few days ago they were released into the main Kuzuko area from that boma \O

The elephants were still proving to be elusive, but on our way back to the lodge, we finally caught a glimpse of one in the distance. It would only be a matter of time before they pulled in at the waterhole in the valley below the camp, but the only sign of life as we drove past was a kudu

Image

Danger ranger told us to give him a shout if the ellies did pull in, so we managed an extra drive down to see them when we saw one arrive O\/

Image

These aren't like the typical Addo ellies where you can get really close to them, and Ronald seemed a bit nervous when one came our way --00-- 0:

Thankfully they seemed more interested in other elephants and the water than us

Soon there was some major water movement as one went further and further in for a swim and mud bath O/\

As the afternoon wore on and we were getting ready for the evening drive, the horizon had some great colours O:V
