Thanks for forwarding this image of the imm Bateleur holding a stick in its beak, presumably a stick off its nest. I have often seen juvenile Crowned Eagles playing with sticks on the nest. Sometimes they even “attack” one, jumping onto it then making as if they are killing it! It is interesting behaviour.


I managed to find some pics of a Crowned eagle chick “playing with sticks” and one using a stick as a pillow!,
