It is quite a shock to the system to be by the river after the desert!

At the Letaba High Bridge we spotted something very rare indeed!

RP: "Aha! Can you see what THAT is there at the puddle? "

Frew: "Is this one of your stupid quizzes again? "

BL: "There is nothing. NOTHING!!" (He is normally aggressive by this time of day, as one may remember from previous trips...)

DW: "A Shwan!'

It was a Kori bustard drinking/dreaming...never seen that!

At this time of the year the algae makes a beautiful colour show!

And there were hordes of fish! I love it!

These are mostly Blue Kurper, Tilapia Mossambicus, and they were busy nesting...making many depressions in the sand!

BL: "Nonshenshe! There is NO such thing! "

RP: "We have this conversation every year. I promise you they are neshting...nesting... "

BL: "You LIE!"

RP: "Look at the pretty colours! "

And then a bit further there is a huge grass vlei, and it was full of ungulates and pachyderms!

Dw: "Full of what??? "
