The flow of the river is really very strong
The hyena really looks as if he/she has had a tough night
Nice giraffes in the road. Doing what
Maybe discussing where to go next
Yes we have never seen water flowing in the Timbavati river and then to see it full to the top

Amazing the amount of water, Rog!
And everything so bright green!
Some more predaotors.
Lovely giraffe shots with the road like that!
very green the Girrafes seemed to be confused or using the road for cover but we never saw from what.

Thanks Roger,
love the giraffes on the road and an incredibly full Timbavati river - Never saw this river that full but also all the other rivers in Kruger did look extreme full this year
Yes the experience of the water was an adventure of its own

We carried on our trip to Satara finding a troop of Baboons.
This one was snacking on a bird by the looks
He soon moved to join the rest
We eventually got past them and found a mini traffic jam . Asking one car they said there was a Leopard moving at the back .We found a spot in the side of the road and as luck would have it the Leopard poped out in a gap of some bushes giving us a view of it
It moved and we repositioned a bit
and then it walked deeper into the grass and the sighting was over
a nice snake eagle
we stopped in at Satara for some coffee and then headed back to Orpen

Even if only a glimpse, it is always awesome to see a leopard

and at least it was active

We have actually seen a Boon with a baby impala up a tree once before some years ago .

On the way back to Orpen -all the roads were closed still .
We found the Stork in a better position
Some Gnu on the road
A bird we could not ID
Then we came across a traffic jam again . There were cars everywhere as this was the only road open .I did not want to join the scrum so said to SO we doing a shoot and scoot .As we went past we got a few quick picks of Lions in an area close to where the Female had been in the morning and moved off .
Then an unusual sighting in the middle of nowhere a crab scuttled across the road. Obviously decided there was too much water in the river for its own safety
Our last sighting of the day was a fowl lookout on top of the roadsign
We had a very quiet night .Not even any nocturnal visitors came to visit during the braai .
The following morning we left early intent on at least driving North or South on the tar past Satara for some different roads ...
We met this fellow on the way home .
And others with a two for one shot a bit further on
and a herd of Buffalo
Some flowers enjoying the rain
We stopped in at Satara and decided to first drive down to the H7 tar as that would be open ...
