How strange to see hippos behaving like lions

I can't remember what route we took for our afternoon drive! In Kruger, I always have a little notebook where I write down each road we take and what we see on it. For this drive, I was driving so it was up to the Brat to keep notes, and all he wrote was S29 and H4-1, but I have no idea how we got to and from the S29!

Anyway, we didn't have too many noteworthy sightings.

The Brat got this African Hawk-eagle.


This ellie cow had some nice tusks.

On the H4-1, we found more hyenas at the den.



A Verreaux that would not turn around.


Another late-night visit from the genet.

There seem to be hyenas all over the place

Lots of wonderful sightings

Catching up, Flutts!

What a spectacular leopard sighting, adrenaline indeed!

And new birdies, the flying eagle shot is lucky!

Always something to see, indeed.

lucky that you saw a genet Love the shots from the hippos and the buffaloes in the riverbed and great that there were lions at Sunset dam - Never had that luck so far

On top such a great variety of different birds

Yes, never a dull moment in Kruger (except when you do have a dull moment)!

Thanks Pumbaa...I did enjoy the birds!

The next morning we packed up to move to Satara. We had planned to go via the H10, but after driving for a few kms and not seeing anything, we questioned our decision and decided to head back to the H4-1 and go up via the H1-2.

Again, we found hyenas at the den.
