Lis, there is no plan to keep anyone in the dark. The names just developed over the course of the weekend, and there are clues as to who all the people are, you just have to decipher them!

Really?! I thought that was the plan - with Lis as the prime target. O**

Has anyone else noticed that the green smilies have been infiltrated by a yellow LOL spy ( -O )?

While still in camp we watched the birdies around us. We saw a pair of Cardinal Woodpeckers and a Brubru - both firsts for me. O:V

So...Flasher, Ice Ice Baby and Big Dave headed out of camp slightly later than iLlama and EfJay. At the gate we were accosted by The Instigator and his sidekick, The Joan Ranger! ;-) They were on their way back to camp, but told us there were apparently two cheetah about 6kms along the Tshewne road. Like iLlama they had also not seen them.

We soon arrived at the spot where there were two other cars. We scanned the area and found this!! O/\ O/\

Image

Some say there are only 2 cheetah in the park, while others say there are about 5. Either way, this was a fantastic sighting!! ^Q^ ^Q^ We could only see one cheetah and we stayed there for about an hour in the hopes it would get up at some stage. The wait paid off and he eventually got up and the other one appeared from behind some bushes! O\/ O\/

Image

Unfortunately they moved away from us into thicker bush, but we were very satisfied!! O:V

We carried on and saw a rhino in the distance, then someone told us of some lions on Tlhware Loop at Mankwe Dam. :-) The road to get there was terrible, with potholes and rocks all over the place. :O^ There were a few cars there and they were very easy to see – 1 male and 2 females.

A day at the beach O:V

The male was so pale he looked like a white lion! :-?

We then headed past the dam towards Bakubang and took the Letsha Link. Just after turning onto this road we came across a large herd of eland…another first for us in Pilanesberg!! O\/ O\/

We then made our back to the gate and got there just before it closed...still too early for Flasher! :O^ It was time to get ready for our braai!! O/\ O/\
