Great again, Sharifa! A big ellie!
What is this "underground hide"?

nan
RP, it is below ground level and it overlooks the waterhole so you are on the same level as the waterhole and not looking down on it
It is 27 December 2013 and we at the gate at 6.00 am again. We will be driving south to Matyholweni gate and exit Addo. Tonight we stay at Ebb and Flow North in Wilderness National Park.
Burchell's Coucal
Eland Herd
Three little pigs
Ellie and LO
My Verdict on Addo
A save haven for Elephants
Addo lacks the variety of animals and birds that Kruger has to offer or the Cats and Raptors of KTP. You do get wonderful ellie sightings close up. The Spekboom like the Mopani hides everything

and one has to be very lucky to find Black Rhino or Leopard. Too far from Gauteng for us to be regular visitors to Addo
The are other parts to Addo that we did not even visit and perhaps a trip in the future to check out the Darlington Section and the Woody Cape Section.
We arrive at Ebb and Flow just after 2.00 PM, perfect timing. Our problems start. Now the driver is very tolerant and overlooks most little things. Today he is not tolerant, ellie in china shop

At these times I know it is best just to keep quiet........
History of Wilderness Section before we calm the ellie down

Great shot!
Hope, PJL can shed some light on who those males are.

Can't wait to find out who the males are

Those 2 big boys are Norman and Zwaai
I love the pic of the Coucal - so fluffed up
And having such a great view of the Eland herd is just fantastic. I've never seen them anywhere near that spot in Waynes Valley before, but they look fantastic going through the long grass there
