As BT said, Mpongholo and Redrocks are the best drives in that area.

You must sleep when you drive - you have the same problem with the S28/S130/S137Flutterby wrote:Funny....that road has always been dead for us!BluTuna wrote:The drive down the S50 along the Kanniedood dam and the river is one of my favourite afternoon drives.![]()

Both too long to do in the afternoon and often completely devoid of animals but also very pleasant places to beFlutterby wrote:As BT said, Mpongholo and Redrocks are the best drives in that area.

We also had one of our best Leopard sightings on the Red Rocks road a couple of years ago.

That is off-topic here...you are just bragging!BluTuna wrote:
When we were camping in the Kgalagadi last year it was zero C or lower almost every night with one extra bracing night at minus six. We were comfortably warm because we had the right gear with us! The Kruger doesn't get anywhere near as cold.

Thanks for those stats...note how the camps not next to rivers are warmer at night!

Not bragging, just making the point that if you have the right gear you don't get cold!

Rubbish! No sub-zero in Kruger except at Tamboti!

Any temperature below 20C feels like it's sub-zero to KZNers
