Sticking the nose "Western" or South African" alike, in the affairs of Sanparks does certainly give results. If nothing else it delays certain decisions and enlarge the depth studies of various interested subjects and institutions, governmental and not O/\ O/\

Planned Developments in Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park

On our recent trip we heard that SP is busy planning at least one more unit
at Urikaruus and Kieliekrankie each. In Uri the new unit it supposed to be
built left of no. 1 and in KK the current camp assistant's unit is supposed to
be turned into a guest unit and the camp assistant will move to the back
of the then 5 units, like in Grootkolk and in Urikaruus. The unit at Uri is
supposed to be a Honeymoon Suite, probably similar to what you can already
find at Kalahari Tented Camp.

Haven't heard anything else but last October there was talk to extend Grootkolk
as well. Mind you, back then we were told it would be 4 new units at KK, Uri and KK each.
Now we're talking about 1. I'm not saying that because I don't think it wouldn't matter.
Just trying to make aware that the source might be a bit inaccurate in what
they related to us.

My understanding is one additional unit at both of Uri and Kielie - these will be honeymoon units.

:-? No tender for Safarai tents at Gharagab Waterhole (not Gharagab) and Craig Lockhart - this was part of the development -O-

I'm off (like a few other around here) in 4 weeks. I guess, we'll know a bit more then.
Unfortunately, Jannie is gone, so I can't go and quiz him anymore.

- 10 x 2-bed units
- Road
- Bulk services

Infrastructure Development Programme – Phase 3 Start: 2013/04/01 Finish: 2015/03/31

Nossob
- 10 x luxury camps sites

Mata Mata
- 2 x chalets
- Camp site ablutions

Twee Rivieren
- Replace 2 x junior staff houses (asbestos)
- Expand sewer system

Urikaruus & Kieliekrankie
- Additional units
Note the "Start" dates 0-

I wonder if the Mata Mata units even require EIA, if they are within the footprint of the existing camp -O-
We have just returned from KTP. It looks like they are only building the chalets in Mata Mata next to the riverfront chalets right now. The framing is finished but no construction work was done while we were there.

We were told that the additional unit at Urikaruus (honeymoon tent) will probably be build in January.
