This road used to be an entrance to Kruger up to the late 1950's, when Phalaborwa was still a baby!
Malopene was the gate, more or less in line with the road, http://www.krugerpark.co.za/krugerpark- ... 17982.html
Later on, Phalaborwa Ranger section was established, with Dirk Swart, and the still-reigning record wild-dog pack in Kruger was confirmed by him, at Malopene...around 50 animals (Actually a couple of packs combined)
Phala was a hotbed of Wild Dog for many years!

I missed a pack of Wild Dogs there... like I had an appointment in Olifant... with Sharifa and Duke,
the last comers... were late because of the Wild Dogs

We travelled part of this road in July and it was dry and dusty.
Our sightings were far inbetween and very few.

Hey, nana...it looks like the committee decided to do the flavours every two months only, so nominate someone to do September at the end of this month?
