Next mourning we left for Nossob, we had booked into the new Campsites

Morning Sunrise



Tried my luck at a springing springbok but it was too early have to find a excuse somehere



some birds along the way





Between Jan se Draai and Kameelsleep we found this guy , actually closer to Kameelsleep





We had just stoped for about 4 minutes when a guy stopped and told us that 3 Cheetahs had just caught a springbok about 2 minutes back , just after Kameelsleep .Off we went, will take Cheetah any day to lion



They where a bit far away so just to a TR photo, stopped at Dikbaardskolk for lunch then moved on to Nossob. It was quite till nossob with not much game.

Arriving at Nossob we given campsite no 5 which looked nice, but not much shade, only area with shade was next to the Kitchen area where we pitched the tent in nice hard ground for the pegs we thought (IF we only knew what we know now ). Set up camp and wanted to connect the fridge to power, no power, noticed that the power had tripped at the MD board, When reset kept tripping on earth leakage. put all they switches off and started to see where the problem was and noticed it was the geyser that was tripping the power. Off to reception to report the problem, and waited for them to come and see. They where not sure of the problem and offered to move us, Me I just laughed and showed him all the stuff. We agreed he will send someone the next day to have a look at the problem, as there was hot water from the solar geyser.

The afternoon drive did not deliver anything and we returned to camp early to Cook as it was going to rain

Now we are going to work on the spelling a bit. One should not have a mourning sunrise in the bush, Rather morning!

RP I was Mourning that I had to get up so early, That's why it's a mourning sunrise and not morning Thanks will fix

There where two sets 1 with 3 cubs just past the turn off from Twee Rivieren to the Auob and the 2nd of 3 close to Dikbaardskolk picnic area.

Around 19h00 the wind picked up, the tent and extension stood good so no worry's I thought, Had Coffee and of to bed, 22H00 it started to rain with the wind still blowing. Around 23h00 I heard the pegs coming out and the extension start to come apart, out I ran and got 450mm long pegs. Took the hammer and wanted to peg them , noticed that a hammer was now not needed as you could push them all the way in with your hand with no effort and they came out just as easy. 5 pegs later on each of the guide ropes they then seamed to stay in. This went on and off until about 01h00, till the wind dropped. Between all this I noticed I was walking in water around the tent, been dark thought it was just from the rain

Woke up in the mourning and when I put my foot down noticed that the tent was like walking on a water Mattress, Lucky nothing major in the tent as it has high sidewalls. When I stepped out I was in 30cm of water, There was nothing we could do so we left it like that and off we went on the mourning drive , not much to have been seen





Returning to camp we now had a good look at the problem . what had happened with us pitching where we did we where now on the downward side of the camp site where all the water runs, to make things worse the drain pipe from the roof was also adding water, I had seen that when we arrived, but noticed a path the water could run away if it rained. .Why did it not happen, the people in there wisdom when they made the site pushed the sand towards the drainage side of the site ,thus making a lovely dam wall to stop the water

We moved the camp to higher ground full in the sun as we could now get a good idea where the problem area was , we checked all the other sites and noticed the same problem there as well heads up for anyone staying in the new campsites in summer, also they have not compacted the sand on the sites, that is the reason the pegs came out and the long pegs went in so easy and came out just as easy What we noticed the people that knew where using sandbags to anchor their tents and not pegs

Anyway we now wanted to shower, no water . Off to reception again, the camp manger was now confused as he said they had fixed the problem. He will come and have a look. On the way back went to the old campsites ablution block and was told by a worker that they did not have elements for the new geysers . Coming out I noticed the camp manager and the maintenance guy walking to our camp. Arriving he checked no water and was confused. I asked where they worked and he said on the geyser, where did you close the water as now I had noticed a valve at the geyser. It was as if some one had put on the lights, what happened they closed the water to check the geyser and never re opened the water. the other problem was the water coming through the roof in the Kitchen where they had drilled a hole for a communication setup . The water had now been falling on the fridge, lucky away from the electronics, but it was wet and standing in water .He apologizes for the water and also for the geyser not working and said he will make it up to use when we return in 2 days time. I had a feeling I knew what it was and it was
