I just looked this up and found more or less what Lis says. Average speed in hunts is 60kph, with 90kph being the top speed. Anything over this is thought to have been innacurately recorded.

There is an urban legend that states that drunk ants always fall to the right.

In a study of ant drunkeness, 32 out of 41 ants were carried back to the nest by sober ants, the other 9 were thrown into a pool of water (presumably to sober up)......Just in case you were thinking it, I'm not making this up. The research was carried out by First Baron Avebury Sir John Lubbock in his book, Ants, Bees and Wasps. A Record of Observations on the Habits of the Social Hymenoptera. published in 1884.
