Eish!!!!

Those back horns go wild sometimes, unique to blackies and Suatran? Can't remember!

Do you know the Addo blackies come from Kenya?

Very lucky, Leyl! O/\ O/\ O/\

Continuing south in disbelief at the day's sightings there was a car stopped just past the addo heights road and as I approached I could see the caracal they were watching off in the tall grass. Unfortunately it didn't like my vehicle approaching and bounded off before I could get any pics, and left the tourists trying to figure out on the park map tick list what they had just seen. My disappointment was short-lived... just a moment further down the road there was another caracal on the road who proceeded to stalk something off to the side and let me get quite close O/\ O/\

This year's caracal count has been very good so far \O

Down on Ngulube a burchells coucal posed nicely and there were some vervets up to mischief lol

Perhaps Addo Predator Park -O- =O: =O:

Just to round off that particular visit, I managed to catch up with the big man Valli Moosa whilst heading down Ngulube loop. He's no longer in musth unlike the last time he strolled past my car.

There was unfortunately no sign of Josie or the cubs on the hillside where I had left them, and with elephant road blocks in place I took a detour back down the main southern access road. The other sightings of the day were raptors... one of my favourite birds which we get in Addo is the black shouldered kite. I managed to get just a single shot of this one as it flew past the car

The final highlight was seeing a black harrier again. I'm not sure how common they are to the area but I've only seen them a couple of times. They like to cruise around hillsides not very far above the ground, so catching one on camera is a tricky business!
