What a lovely sequence with the Darter . The others do all look rather unhappy about the water especially the dikkop
Glad that you managed to change to a dry bungalow .Sounds like they have some drainage issues in camp

Yes it rained indeed a lot and the view is very special especially with such a green park

Now we even had a bit time left to pay a visit to the shop and even booked a table for diner at the restaurant which obviously was high recommendable as it was Valentine’s day so not much time left for a long afternoon drive but we at least wanted to drive until the causeways across the Sabie and Sand river and on our way to same we spotted the ever present impalas
and on the causeway itself another giant kingfisher
posed nicely for us.
As already said we could not stay that long but we simply wanted do a short drive and so we were happy to capture an African hawk eagle in flight
and one of the many crocodiles waiting in line for some fish coming down the causeway
and with another nice dinner at the Cattle Baron it ended a more than excited day in many respects.
Friday 15. February 2019 – Skukuza – Satara
Explored roads: H11 – S1 – S65 – H1-1 – S66 – H1-1 – H1-2 – S83 – H1-2 – S36 – H1-2 – H1-3 – S86 – S125 – S36 – H7 – S12 – S40 – H7 - H1-4
We really slept very well between the provisional clothesline and in fact everything dried so we packed our stuff together as it was again moving day and although the distance to Satara is quite long we needed to drive once again our beloved S65 so after the obligatory morning coffee on our verandah we hit the road into that direction.
The luck was then on our side again as shortly after the turnoff off to Lake Panic we spotted a pack of wild dogs on the tar road
an animal we in the past were able to see at least once during a trip but then extreme often in that area and even on that road.
In the early morning this is indeed an extreme busy road with the close gate as people need to drive to work or from inside the park to their homes outside the park and normally we avoid that road and prefer to drive on the sand roads but with a sighting like that…..

Luckily all the dogs were extreme relaxed and even laid down between the many cars
or were sniffing in a row on an interesting scent.
Suddenly we were alone with them and whilst they set in motion again we followed them whilst driving backwards
but gladly not long as they needed a break and we armed again our cameras and fired away.
Now even a school bus filled with pupils on the way to school outside the gate stopped and allowed the children to take pictures with their cell phones
and finally the sun even came out and the light got better and better.
To our or better to say to Timon’s delight the doggies now preferred to stay offside the road in the really high grass
and it was such a perfect morning already
and suddenly it got quieter trafficwise and we were again all alone with them
to be continued……
