It really is amazing to be so close to the park nan. Sometime I hope you'll be able to visit it again without the rain
I think it must have been my best single day in the park for variety and quality of sightings... 6 lion, 4 rhino, 2 caracal is remarkable

The black harrier is a teat, PJL. Well done!

WoW PJL,
what fantastic sightings you had - blackies, caracal, lions, jackals and all the rest
I should plan a visit shortly

Woah! You get to see all that in just one day?
If you now go and post a brownie from that day as well, I wouldn't be surprised anymore.
Great bird shots, especially the harrier.
But the BSK is beautiful as well, showing its magnificent eyes.

Yes it was quite a day - probably the best single day for sightings although only the caracal was close. But I know many people would be quite happy with just that sighting
I was back in the park again on Saturday. S was ill in bed and the kids were wanting to go - particularly H because she wasn't with us when we first found the cubs. So after a late start we ventured down to the park with the express aim to find Josie and her cubs... quite a tall order
There was some general game around but we didn't find anything much of interest along Ngulube or Harveys apart from this coucal who posed nicely
Even some of the weekend regulars hadn't spotted anything much, so we felt quite pleased to at least find a couple of cats. Just a shame they were a long way off and walking away from us
Lion are often spotted on the weekends with more visitors in the park, so we ventured up to Jacks picnic site to check the sightings board and have our picnic lunch. The sightings board was pretty empty, but we were all enjoying being out in the park so figured we'd do a spot of geocaching at Spekboom before heading south...

Your luck doesn't seem to fade
Even if it was a long way down the road (or rather up), 2 caracals in one go is just awesome!!!

I actually have no idea Lisbeth. Their territories can vary from about 5 square km upwards. I wouldn't be surprised if there are 100 to 200 in the park
