Astounding eagle pic, Pumbaa! ^Q^

And a lovely doggie sighting...I know of no other animal that cares less about vehicles! lol

So how was the valentine's party at the restaurant? 0()

The darter still gives me an uncomfortable feeling from years of fresh water fishing. The fish don’t bite when this character is around. --00--

Flooding O-/

A fantastic wild dog sighting and pics O/\ O/\ O/\

O/\ O\/

And so many amazing shots ^Q^
That part of the road can be extreme quiet and on the other side very busy either with cars or animals O/\

The restaurant was indeed quite full because the deck outside was closed due to the inconstant weather X#X

Obviously a doggie hot spot and always worth to drive despite the traffic lol

and simply enjoyed the time we had with them and were part of their pack

Image

and on top the doggies were indeed extreme cooperative and posed nicely for us

Image

Image

even through the high and green grass.

Image

After some walks whilst we again drove backwards with the car they again needed a break

Image

and we too but we still had not enough from them

Image

as it was such a fantastic sighting

Image

but somehow after more than half an hour and the fact that they set in motion again we decided to carry on as we still had a long drive ahead of us

and you never know what might come next which was then for us a group of zebras grazing in the high grass,

Image

a Wahlberg eagle

Image

and a steppe buzzard.

Image

Unfortunately the rest of the S65 was then uneventful until we reached the Mathekenyana crossing

Image

where we were facing ourselves out of nowhere eye in eye with a leopard who just crossed the causeway and again we were a bit too late and this was what we finally saw.

Image

The grass was extreme high here but at least same stopped long enough for a short glimpse and a quick snap through the dense bushes and the high grass.

Image

As we were still the only car there we drove forward and backwards to might spot the leopard again but in the end we ended again at the spot on which we originally stood and whilst I scanned the area with the binoculars I shouted. “I can see the head”

Image

but still not the best leopard sighting and suddenly two safari vehicles appeared out of nowhere

Image

one overtook us and stopped then and the other one stopped right behind us so we were wedged between them and then as already expected the leopard set in motion and crossed the river and the people in the safari vehicle behind us got the best shots and we got nothing….We tried to drive again backwards after the safari vehicle did the same but the leopard could not be spotted again. At least we got a glimpse and a leopard is a leopard and we knew where to look for another one and that was our destination then: Transport dam where we just missed the leopard by seconds yesterday and what to say today same was sitting again in the tree

Image

although I would speak about a bush as same was very dense and the leopard itself very difficult to spot but again a leopard is a leopard…..

Image

to be continued…….
