A martial eagle is indeed impressive and we simply loved to hear that woody orchestra

Love the roadblock
Wonderful Woody sequence
Always special to see a martial eagle
That road block was more than lovely - Luckily finally they cleared the road

A dead fallen bush was lying there and same attracted as well as a bit water left all the birds and also a melba finch finally sat still long enough for a couple of shots
until the woodlands again took over.
Meanwhile nature was again calling and so a short break at Timbavati picnic spot came extreme handy and after we also stretched the legs a bit we carried on only to stop at Ratelpan hide.
We had not to wait that long until a huge crocodile swam by
and a couple of spoonbills flew closer
whilst more grey herons were on the look out a bit farer away
and also here a woodland kingfisher awaited us already.
Only two men joined us only for a short period in the hide until they carried on again and so we still had the hide all to ourselves. In the distance now four African spoonbills
where good visible whilst walking in a single file foraging.
After a nice break in the hide we had to drag ourselves also away and we could capture not far away another white winged widowbird
busy in searching for the female.
In a meadow we discovered a couple of crowned plovers
and on the other side of the road another golden orb web spider.

Overall it was a more then nice drive with always something to be seen in the dense vegetation and for sure the impalas
again occurred plentiful
and we had again a great time in watching and photographing them.
Again masses of zebras were hanging around
and could not be overlooked
and also lots of wildebeests joined the zebras where most of them already were looking for shade
or were on the move.
At Roodeval waterhole obviously a giraffe congress was about to take place
as there were so many of them present
busy in quenching their thirst
and also here we stayed quite long until nearly most of them were gone already.
to be continued……….

Wow, what a great variety of general game

, as well as a leopard sighting! The leopard does look rather, um, uh...unhandsome - too many spots on his face!

As always, agree with nan, love your birds. The kingfisher pics are very impressive

.

Such beautiful scenes, Pumbaa!
The weather looks nice!
Love all the birdies, and the woodlands' behaviour is spectacular, never seen that!
And great giraffe sightings!
Plenty of water, don't think I've ever been to that hide!
