If you missed our KZN Wild Dog expert, Cole du Plessis's Instagram takeover earlier this month, here are a few of the highlights from this successful Wild Dog relocation.
While one team relocated five male Wild Dogs from Tswalu Private Game Reserve to Madikwe Game Reserve, another team relocated three female Wild Dogs from Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Park to Madikwe. These relocations form part of the Wild Dog Range Expansion Project, which looks to increase pack numbers, Wild Dog population numbers, and genetic diversity. This can only be done when multiple stakeholders work together to benefit Wild Dog conservation. We are proud to have partnered with Tswalu Private Game Reserve, Ezemvelo KZN Wildlife, Madikwe Game Reserve, Wildlife ACT, and Zoe Glyphis from Nkombe Rhino on these moves. We were also excited to have Wes Larson from CNN's Great Big Story with us to document the journey.
