So, after thinking that the ellie could not possibly get any closer, he started feeding on the grasses right next to us. :shock:

We watched in amazement as he gave us ridiculously close views of how he uses his trunk to pull up fresh grass shoots and place them in his mouth. We were all mesmerised by this. It was a fabulous experience and one I will not forget in a long, long time.

Ellies can be so peaceful when they are feeding :-) Excellent sequence here \O But I'm sure it would have been possible for him to come closer still. Some ellies like cars as rubbing poles :twisted: lol

Going back a bit - the monitor sequence is unique - seriously, how many get to see them mating, much less an interloper? ^Q^ ^Q^

The choice of Jaws music is spot on w/ the snorkeling ellie. \O \O What a wonderful, though somewhat tension filled encounter w/ an elephant THAT close. :shock: :shock: O-/ O-/ 0:
