Lis - I just loved watching the way he used his trunk.

RP - aquatiphant.

Mel - Very peaceful. We do get a wee bit closer in a bit.

ExFmem - Agree, the monitor sighting was a tad special.

Nan - More close ups to come in a bit.

Flutt's - It felt great to be so close. I think I mentioned earlier in this TT that all the ellies we encountered seemed relaxed and chilled out compared to ones we have seen in other parks.

Pumbaa - More birdies to come here. And lots more ellies.

We continued to watch the elephant feeding for quite some time. Curling his trunk around a clump of fresh grass, he would shake the dirt from the roots before putting them in his mouth.



Then repeat the process all over again.



Grabbing a clump, curling his trunk, cleaning the roots, bring to the mouth....



Inspect the blade.



Not nearly enough to feed a growing elephant there.



Try again...that's more like it!



A proper mouthful this time.



And chew.

I had always compared them to a peasant... an old one who make all by hand ...

Lis - Yes, he was standing in water.

Mel - Nothing worse than grit between your molars.

RP - I can sense that another visit to the 'boons is way overdue here.

Nan - Agree, they are very artisan with their use of tusks & trunk.

Flutt's - Especially if they only pick up one at a time.
