Ja, almost impossible to tell the sexes of hyena, PJL!

Thanks for the info again...I know it was virtually impossible to do aerial censuses in the past due to the thick bush...so still ranger reports? -O-

Great pics again...but poor not getting caracal pic! =O:

I often try to stop at Zuurkop as you can quite quickly tell if there are any major sightings... the panorama lets you see if there are bunches of cars on a vast area. No such luck this time, so we took a trip around the Gorah loop.

First up some kudus thinking they were looking in the mirror ;-)

Image

Further along the loop there was a big eland bull very close to the road. He was the most relaxed eland I think I've ever seen in the park, and didn't seem to mind the vehicle too much at all O:V

It's that time of year when many of the animals are feeling a little frisky, so we enjoyed watching some of the disputes amongst the male zebras O/\

Isn't it funny how we associate certain thoughts when we look at photos that we took, like with the kudus?! I often do it myself. lol

The zebra photo is really cool! :-)

And what a magnificent eland. O\/

Thanks for all the comments \O \O

Trundling back south another sighting made D's day - a beautiful puff adder moving over the road. We could only get pics from behind, and when I tried to swing round and catch it from a side angle it had already disappeared
Still, this was the first time I've seen a puffy in the park. They're just coming out of hibernation so it's a good time of year to see them. O:V

Our fruitless attempts to find lions continued as we checked over by the Arizona station, but Valli Moosa was meandering along that way O/\

Image

Some further friskiness was apparent in the kudu population

Whilst to end the day we found this little family moving home lol
