Re: BluTuna goes West
Back at camp we were visited by the tourons. One of them pretended to be an attorney who was "representing" his clients; he told me I would have to come back to the nearest town to attend a court case, "But we can make this go away", which I assume meant that he wanted me to pay the fine for them.
I told them to go away and send me a summons but he persisted until I picked up my phone and called the KTP emergency number. They left in a hurry. The police arrived shortly after with a couple of parks board people; they told me that the matter was already settled and they had been fined R1000.00 and told to leave the park.
Maybe you and Sprocky should start an "AW eviction squad"!
Well done indeed, BT and SP!

I think it was just bad luck that they found me. If we'd have been 10 minutes later getting back from our drive they'd have been gone.nan wrote:Back at camp we were visited by the tourons... it's my fears... like I'm alone... or to be aggressed in the road but till now never

Hunting cannot be considered a sport as all contestants in a sport should know they are playing the game!

Thanks RP, I do get mad when people think that the rules are for other people.Richprins wrote:Back at camp we were visited by the tourons. Re: BluTuna goes West
Day 13, Saturday June 15, Twee Rivieren -> Kalahari Guest House.
We decided to have one last, short, morning drive, have breakfast at the restaurant, pack up camp and leave the park.
More scenery with a Martial Eagle
And with a Tawny Eagle
Some Suricates tryng to warm up
Another Tawney with scenery
Sociable Weaver scavenging for building material
A final Springbok picture
And last but not least, a new tick for us, an Ashy Tit
That night I went out and took some more sky pictures at the guest house. The first quarter Moon illuminated the trees quite nicely.
All we had then was the 850Km drive home the next day.

Martial and red dunes
cute Suricates, as always
and magnificent sky
then return home ... 850 km is nothing... compared to my return

Re: BluTuna goes West
Shame this had to come to an end - I could have travelled with you forever
I enjoyed your Travel Tale a lot and hope you'll go back soon (KTP that is )
for me to enjoy some more
Thanks for posting!
Did you happen to go out for dinner when you stayed in Upington before you
went on the trek back home? If so, where did you go and can you recommend it?

God put me on earth to accomplish a certain amount of things. Right now I'm so far behind that I'll never die.

True, but I rather have people fly me than drive myself -Onan wrote: then return home ... 850 km is nothing... compared to my return
