DEA Rhino poaching update 10 July 2014

The number of rhinos poached since the beginning of 2014 has increased to 558, with 157 people being arrested for rhino poaching. The Kruger National Park continues to bear the brunt of rhino poaching in South Africa. Since January 2014, 351 rhinos have been poached in the Park.

The number of rhinos poached in Limpopo this year has risen to 80, while 48 rhinos have been poached in KwaZulu-Natal, 37 in North West and 24 in Mpumalanga. South Africans and members of the international community are encouraged to report incidents of poaching and tip-offs to the anonymous tip-off lines 0800 205 005, 08600 10111 or Crime-Line on 32211.

Looks to be heading over 1000 again this year, and Kruger looks bad...more poached and less arrests so far! :evil:

I put it to you that Kruger's antipoaching are becoming demoralised... :-(

Been saying that for the last 3 years now.

More rhino's posached every year with the amount of poachers arrested/ killed every year and you will see an increase on year to year basis of poached rhino's against arrested/ killed poachers.

All that big phoe haa that we are slowly winning the war.

Bwahahaha.

Yah , I wonder what the General thinks about this ?
Kruger has lost more rhinos during the 18 months under his command , than in the previous three years together , without the slightest sign of slow-down in the killing spree 0*\
