There isn't really much to add apart from the photos

By its geographical position (east-northeast to west-southwest orientation) and lithological diversity, the Algarve stands out as unique stratigraphic and morpho-tectonicregion. A peripheral Carboniferous unit of the Variscan orogeny, it constitutes the Mesozoic and Cenozoic sedimentary layers, deposited onto two totally distinct superimposed basins. Between the Middle-Upper Triassic to Hettangian, sediments evolved from continental (fluvial red sandstone) to shallow marine over the entire region, which included instances of evaporates, tholeiite fissural magmas, lava flows, volcanic ash and pyroclasts. The littoral and cliff sands are dominated by various bivalve organisms, bryozoans, larger benthic foraminifers and Coralline algaewith minor additions of echinoids and balanids implying a shallow-water depositional system of a warm-temperate climatic regime. The locality of Cerro das Mós, from where a large crocodilian (Tomistoma schlegelii) tooth was collected long ago, has also produced some Odontoceti teeth. These may be dated from the Serravallian, which, constitute the oldest marine mammal occurrence in Algarve

I don't know about you, but I understand very little of the physical geography above :-? O** Anyhow this is what it looks like:

Cool rock formations and a very interesting explanation =O:

In summer hell breaks loose there, but it looks quiet and peaceful now. ^Q^

Rock pigeon \O

What a lovely place Lagos is! Looks very inviting and I'm sure I could sit in a street café there for hours and let the world around me pass by. lol

Beautiful coastline as well with those rock formations. Reminds me a bit of the Great Ocean Road in Oz. O**

No food this time? -O-

yes, Toko! The time is now and maybe another month, then the peace is finished 0*\ :ty: for the flower ID, Genius 0/0

Right you are, Mel! We have quite a few of those Cafes in Tavira too and they are never empty lol

Never wanted so much to take a swim, but the water is still very cold and being the Atlantic it never really heats up ;-)
