Ja! Thanks!

Have to move along, as doing another day trip Friday!

Just after the Maroela Loop, we turned right onto the H-12...this is probably the worst tar road in the Park...a simple short connection between the Tshokwane and Lower Sabie tar roads, over the only high water bridge. Never seen ANYTHING there! 0*\

RP: "This is probably the worst tar road in the Park...a simple short connection between the Tshokwane and Lower Sabie tar roads, over the only high water bridge. Never seen ANYTHING there!"

Pa: "Okiedokie! You are a Great Kruger Expert! Pass the cold wors and braaibroodjie!"

RP: "Ok! But I'm driving this grand bakkie!"

Pa: "Ok! We got that wrong! Do you want some wors and braaibroodjie? Sorry about calling you a..."

RP: "STOP!"

Pa: ":Ok, won't mention it again... :O^ O** "

I couldn't believe my Bloodshot Eagle Eyes! One of those once every few years sightings...well, for me anyway! ..0.. \O

As said the grass was very short indeed, otherwise there was no way one would have seen this thing!

Pa: "Why do you say Stop if you are driving?"

RP: "It sounds better that way!... 0- 0= @#$ "

Pa: "Oh, really? Perhaps you should see a ..."

RP: "Quiet! You'll scare it away!"

The ratel/badger had quite a knack for evading portraits, unfortunately! One may think it was the normal quick rush to get pics, but NO! The damned thing never stopped moving, unless it was to have a nap under a piece of shrubbery! 0*\

It was constantly digging things out of the moist earth...first smelling around, then shovelling away like mad, then chewing, then trotting, then digging, then snoozing, then digging...the world's biggest hamster! (This was a very big specimen, I must say!)

It was only probably the second one I have ever seen properly in Kruger...but the sighting more than made up for that! Eventually we left out of boredom!

Prinsadam was a little blasè about the sighting...

RP: "You seem a little blasè..."

Pa: "Ja...we see them quite often in Kgalagadi, or in restcamps here... O** "

RP: "Yes, but it is rather more difficult to see them in thick Kruger bush, as compared to a desert or restcamp... :O^ "

Pa; "Ja...this is not exactly thick bush... :-? "

RP: " @#$ @#$ @#$ @#$ you spoiled little 0= (0!) That's why I don't go to KTP, you @#$ 0= ..."

etc.

Prinsadam, despite his fancy lens and camera equipment, got only a slightly better shot, which I was rather smug about... :-)
